A 23-year-old man who admitted being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug after police found cocaine believed to be worth £160,000 during the search of a vehicle at the petrol station in Tweedbank has avoided a prison sentence.

Danielius Pomputis, who gave an address in Hawick, was arrested following the seizure in May last year.

At the High Court in Stirling on Tuesday, he was ordered to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work as part of a three-year community payback order.

The sentence includes a supervision requirement and a restricted movement requirement, which includes an electronic monitoring order.
