Centre of Coldstream blocked after car overturns

Traffic in the centre of Coldstream was brought to a standstill following reports of a car on its side.

Emergency services raced to the scene in the town's High Street after the alarm was raised around 1pm on Monday.

Two fire crews were among those to respond, and motorists were urged to avoid the area.

The incident unfolded not far from the Scotland-England border.

Locals report the High Street partially reopened to some traffic shortly before 4pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.05pm on Monday, police received a report of a car on its side in High Street, Coldstream.

"Emergency services attended and the road was closed for around two and a half hours.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
