Police have revealed drugs - believed to be cannabis - with an estimated street value of £8,000 have been seized following a raid in the Scottish Borders.

Local officers, supported by specialist teams, executed a search warrant in the Burnfoot area of Hawick on Friday (May 30th).

Two people have been arrested in connection with the discovery.

Jack Purvis, who's 27, and Sherise Neil, who's 38, have both been charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

They made no plea when they appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court this week.

They were committed for further examination and released on bail.

The date of their next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
