Pensioner admits sending indecent images and videos to 'boy, 14'
A 70-year-old man from Chirnside has admitted sending images and videos of a sexual nature to someone he believed was a 14-year-old boy.
Andrew Deuchar was caught in an online sting by an adult posing as a child, before being confronted at his home in the Berwickshire village on May 30th.
Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard the pensioner told police the decoy had "taken the lead and been an instigator" during some of their exchanges on social messaging app Kik, between April and May this year.
But he added: "I'm sorry, it was a mistake. It was only the once."
Deuchar pled guilty to attempting to communicate indecently with a child when he appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court this morning (Monday).
Sentence has been deferred until November 3rd for background reports, and he has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register meantime.
