TV favourite spotted with Alan Carr as he picks up ‘curious’ find at Borders antiques fair

A familiar face from our television screens has joined Alan Carr as filming for his new TV series, documenting his move to Ayton Castle, continues in the Scottish Borders.
The comedian and presenter was spotted with former Countdown host Carol Vorderman on a visit to Paxton House on Saturday.
The pair attended an antiques fair being held at the historic home, near Berwick, along with a camera crew.
It's less than 12 miles from his new pad, via the A1.
Staff have taken to social media to share their excitement at welcoming the TV personalities - adding: "What a buzz for our estate and small team!"
In a post on social media, Paxton House beamed: "He’s saved the best place to visit in the Scottish Borders till today!
"We can’t wait to watch the TV series - welcome to the beautiful Scottish Borders Alan Carr 🤩"
The TV funnyman picked up an unusual item during his visit to Paxton House – a stage prop cow - from Morpeth-based antiques dealer, Curiosities killed the cat.
He has previously spoken of his love for animals and wanting them to be part of life at Ayton Castle.
A spokesperson for the shop at Fannies Emporium said: "We knew Alan love's a cow and he couldn't stop playing with its udders.
"We gave him it as a house-warming gift and told him he wouldn't be lonely tonight! 😂"
In January, Disney+ announced a new series will follow Carr as he finds, buys and runs his “very own castle”.
It's being produced by the same company behind the hit series Clarkson's Farm.
Last week, we reported the Celebrity Traitors winner - who celebrated his 50th birthday in June - has submitted plans to turn a potting shed at his castle into a community cafe and estate shop.
The "super spexy" comedian is due to perform a series of intimate shows across the Borders in the coming weeks ahead of his upcoming tour - with tickets for venues in Melrose, Jedburgh, Hawick and Galashiels selling out within minutes of going on sale.
When asked how he was settling in back in June, Carr told Greatest Hits Radio: "Love the Borders, love it!
"I've just settled in. I got the keys last Friday, so there's lots of things in boxes. But the people have been lovely.
"I've been getting so much free stuff – and I do love freebies, keep them coming!
"But, for me, it's the beaches. They're all dog-friendly, so I find these cute little beaches and have the best time.
"(The) fish and chips as well; oh my God, I'm going to get even fatter than I am, but I love it!"
