Air rifle seized and injured cyclist taken to hospital during police quad bike patrol

Police have confirmed a male has been charged after allegedly being found in possession of an air rifle near a village in the Scottish Borders.
Officers were on patrol in the Tweed Valley on Sunday when they seized the weapon near Cardrona - after being alerted by a member of the public.
A spokesperson for the force said a report detailing the circumstances will sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
"Following recent reports of illegal off-road motorbike use in the Tweed Valley, Scottish Borders Community Policing Team carried out pro-active patrols in the area on Sunday," a statement added.
"During these patrols, they were stopped by a member of the public who reported a male in possession of an air rifle a short distance from Cardrona Village. The officers attended and traced the male.
"The weapon was seized and the male has been reported for an offence under the Air Weapons and Licensing Scotland Act.
"The officers later supported Scottish Ambulance Service and Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team in attending reports of an injured Mountain Biker at the 'Golfie' Trails near to Innerleithen. The injured biker was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm."
