Man, 48, charged following collision involving car and tipper truck

A 48-year-old man has been charged with a road traffic offence following a crash involving a car and a tipper truck on the A68, near Leaderfoot, which left two people in hospital.
Police say their investigations into the incident are ongoing and they're appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
The silver Ford Kuga and blue HGV collided at the junction with the B6360 road, which runs between Gattonside and Smailholm, around 5pm on Tuesday.
Two men aged 48 and 71 were taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
And the busy cross-border route was closed for around two hours while the vehicle was recovered and the scene was made safe.

Police Constable Andy Ross said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances of this crash remain ongoing.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch with us. I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
