A68 closed following collision at Leaderfoot

A man's been taken to Borders General Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A68 near the Leaderfoot Viaduct.

The road was closed both ways following the incident, which was reported - at the turn-off to the B6360 road - around 5pm this evening (Tuesday).

And motorists were urged to find an alternative route while a recovery operation got underway.

But the A68 reopened shortly before 8pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A68 road is closed in both directions near to the junction for Gattonside following a crash involving two vehicles.

"The crash was reported around 5.05pm on Tuesday.

"One man has been taken to Borders General Hospital as a precaution.

"Recovery is ongoing. Please use an alternative route."
