Driver clocked at '132mph' on A1
Police in the Scottish Borders have revealed they clocked a motorist travelling at 132 miles per hour on the A1.
They've shared an image of the speedometer reading as a warning to other drivers.
It comes amid concerns over the number of serious and fatal crashes on the cross-border route.
"We stopped a black Volkswagen Golf R on the A1 southbound after it was clocked doing nearly DOUBLE the speed limit," the statement read.
"Driving like this puts everyone at risk. The driver will now answer to court for dangerous driving, no MOT, and no tax."
Meanwhile, campaigners are continuing a drive to have the road fully dualled in Northumberland - a campaign supported by local Labour MPs David Smith and Joe Morris.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham said: “David and Joe have made the case for investment in the A1 and my government hears that loud and clear.
"I’m keen to see if there’s a way of putting together a funding package to deliver the improvements needed.”
