Arrest made as man in 60s found in serious condition in Wolverhampton centre

An arrest has been made after a man in his 60s was found with serious injuries in Wolverhampton city centre last night (18th March).

Officers believe he was attacked on Dudley Street.

The man is in hospital in a serious condition.

A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said "Officers were on patrol in the area and arrested a 63-year-old man shortly after the attack. He is currently in custody for questioning.

"A scene remains in place while we carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.

"We understand this will cause disruption for businesses and visitors and we thank everyone for their patience so our investigation can continue."
