Wolverhampton man sentenced to 23 years for sexually abusing five people
Ian Perrin forged evidence in attempt to undermine victims' claims

A 64-year-old man from Wolverhampton, has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for multiple offences, including sexual abuse and child cruelty against five individuals.
Ian Perrin's conviction resulted from a trial at Luton Crown Court, where he was found guilty of offences dating back to the late 1990s.
He attempted to undermine the victims' testimonies by presenting forged evidence, which was quickly disproven by investigators.
In addition to his prison term, Perrin will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
Detective Constable Claire Long of Bedfordshire Police said: “Perrin sexually abused four people and neglected a fifth. He was a prolific offender who is now behind bars.
“I commend each victim for coming forward and for the courage they showed in speaking out during what was a very difficult trial.
“We are committed to tackling all forms of sexual abuse and want victims to know that it is never too late to come forward.
“Our specialist teams investigate offences like this every day, working tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice while ensuring victims receive the support they need throughout the process.
