Two children who died after a house fire in Wolverhampton have been named as three-year-old J'Saun and one-year-old Xaliq.

A woman in her 30s arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of two children is currently on police bail.

Emergency services were called out to a house on Mason Street at around 8.30pm on Friday 24 April.

Fire crews from Bilston, West Bromwich, and Bloxwich Fire Stations attended, with six firefighters entering the property.

Firefighters managed to rescue the two young boys from the property, but they were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other children and a woman managed to escape without injuries.

Tributes

Tributes, toys, and flowers have been laid at the scene of the house fire.

One tribute reads: "Precious angels taken too soon. Beautiful stars, shining bright for all to cherish."

Another said: "Such a tragic loss of young lives."

Investigations continue

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Det Insp David Cooper from Wolverhampton Police said: “Our investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fire continues, and we are supporting the family of the two young boys at this devastating time.”
