Knives and drugs seized after stop and searches in Willenhall and West Bromwich
Teenagers apprehended as part of Project Guardian taskforce
Police officers have recovered knives and drugs following the stop and search of two teenagers in Willenhall and West Bromwich.
A 17-year-old boy from Birmingham was charged with possession of a knife, with a court appearance scheduled at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on 29th July.
The knife was found during a stop and search on Summer Road, Willenhall, on the afternoon of 13th July.
Later that evening, officers on patrol observed a teenager fleeing on an e-scooter.
Upon apprehension, officers recovered class A drugs, a knife, and cash from the suspect.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon, and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
These operations are part of the Project Guardian taskforce, which involves regular patrolling and engaging with young people in areas prone to knife and youth violence.
