West Midlands Railway confirms suspension of strike action
A reduced service was expected this weekend due to strike by members of the TSSA trade union.
West Midlands Railway has announced that two days of strike action by members of the TSSA trade union planned for this weekend has been suspended.
On Friday 31st of July and Saturday 1st of August, a reduced service was expected to be in operation on the network.
However, this action has been suspended due to further talks between WMR and the union. A full service will now be run to the normal timetable this weekend.
Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at WMR, said: “We are pleased the TSSA has suspended its strike action, which would have been disruptive for our customers. We now look forward to running our usual timetable on Friday and Saturday.”
