Officers, PCSOs and police staff from West Midlands Police took part in an engaging visit to the City of Wolverhampton College earlier this week to speak with students about careers in policing.

Over 100 students attended the event, which featured representatives from various teams across the force, including Wolverhampton’s City Centre and Wednesfield neighbourhood teams, the Offender Manager department, Roads Policing, and the Drones unit.

Learning about policing careers

During the visit, students had the chance to hear about the wide variety of roles and career pathways available within policing, as well as what day-to-day life in the force entails.

There were also open discussions about the students' personal experiences, how they can communicate with the police, and the ways West Midlands Police works to support communities.

The event was designed to provide a comprehensive insight into policing, with the aim of inspiring young people to consider careers in the sector.

Thinking about a rewarding career?

West Midlands Police hopes the event showcased the numerous opportunities available within its force and is encouraging those interested in making a difference to learn more about their current vacancies.
