This year's tournament got underway last night, with Scotland's first game on Sunday, before England's opening match on the 17 June
West Mercia Police has said it is sending out a 'clear message' to people while the World Cup is on to make sure they respect the law.
This year's tournament started last night, with both England and Scotland set to get their group stage fixtures underway in the upcoming few days.
Scotland play their opening game in the early hours of Sunday morning (14 June), while England face Croatia on Wednesday in their first match.
Edd Williams, who's the force's chief superintendent for local policing across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, said people may see additional officers in high footfall areas while the home nations sides are playing and they'll keeping an eye on it all.
"Our message is clear, whether you're enjoying it at home or in the pubs and clubs in our towns and cities, know your limits," he said.
"It is a game of football, it's a passionate game, but please avoid that temptation of having one too many and getting involved in anti-social behaviour or criminality, all of which has consequences.
"We do recognise that domestic violence can sometimes increase during major football tournaments, and my advice to anybody who witnesses or is subjected to any domestic abuse is that we are here for you, we will support you, so please report it."
