Three men have been arrested after officers found drugs, weapons, and cash in a car that crashed attempting to flee in Walsall.

A car on Pleck Road failed to stop for officers in the early hours of this morning.

It led police on a high speed chase before crashing.

A West Midlands police spokesperson said "Officers spotted the car on Pleck Road around 1.30am today (13 April), and it failed to stop for them before hitting speeds of 80mph and then crashing into a traffic light and fence on Old Pleck Road. "

Officers searched the car and found a large quantity of cash and Class A drugs, a baseball bat and a machete.

The arrests

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 20-year-old and 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and possession of an offensive weapon.
