Three arrested after early morning warrants
It happened this morning
Officers have arrested three people this morning (Friday 18 September), after two drug warrants at properties in Wem.
A man, aged 27, and a woman, aged 22, were arrested, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs, after a warrant at a property on New Street.
When officers from Wem's Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) entered the property, they discovered suspected class B drugs and an imitation firearm.
A 54 year-old man was also arrested, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs, after a second warrant at a property on Oakley Meadow. During a search, officers discovered more suspected class B drugs.
All three remain in police custody.
Inspector Rich Jones, from the SNT, said: “We understand the impact that suspected drug-related activity can have on residents and the wider community and we are committed to taking action, on the information we receive.
“Today’s warrants demonstrate that we will act on concerns and intelligence about suspected criminality in our communities.
“We would encourage anyone with concerns about drugs, or other criminal activity in their area, to report them to police.”
