Telford property shut down for three months due to anti-social behaviour
Closure order granted by magistrates court following persistent issues
Police have successfully obtained a closure notice for a property at 10 Park Close, in St Georges, Telford, due to persistent anti-social behaviour and related criminal activity.
The closure order was granted under Section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 after ongoing disturbances at the address, including suspected drug dealings, reports of violence, and other disruptive behaviour.
Residents have raised concerns over the past year, reporting incidents of drunk and disorderly conduct, loud music, dangerous driving, garden fires, and constant visitors at all hours.
The St Georges and Priorslee Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), aided by the North Telford SNT and Prevention officers, secured the notice on 10th August, effectively banning residents from returning for a period of three months.
Sergeant Sean Maddocks praised the move as beneficial for local residents: "This closure order is a positive result for the residents of Park Close, who have had to endure persistent anti-social behaviour and criminality linked to this address for a prolonged period of time."
Maddocks emphasised the strain the property has placed on police resources over the past year and expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation.
He added, "We understand the impact this type of behaviour has on residents' quality of life, and we hope this order provides reassurance that we will take robust action against those responsible for causing harm and disruption in our neighbourhoods."
The police continue to encourage community members to report any incidents to help maintain safety and security in the area.
