A man has been charged after a laser was shone at a police aircraft in Telford.

60-year-old Reed Beers, of Dawley, has been charged with dazzling or distracting a pilot.

The plane was helping officers search for a suspect following a road rage incident in Ketley Bank at around 6.20pm on 10th March.

Beers has been released on bail ahead of his court appearance on 27th March.

Detective Inspector Paul Drury said: “Shining a laser at any aircraft is inherently dangerous but doing so while it is assisting officers with an ongoing incident puts both the crew and the public at even greater risk."
