Teenager hospitalised after balaclava attack in Wednesbury
Police are investigating the reported attack
A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being attacked by a group of boys wearing balaclavas in Wednesbury, police say.
Officers were called to Hydes Road just before 3.20pm on Tuesday (9 June) following reports of the attack.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries the ambulance service say were potentially serious.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said “We were called at 3.21pm to reports of an assault on Hydes Road in Wednesbury.
"One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival, we found one patient, a teenage boy who was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.
"He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to hospital for further assessment.”
A police investigation has been launched.
