Severn Trent Water is calling on customers to conserve water as the region experiences unprecedented demand due to the ongoing heatwave.

On Saturday, 11th July, the company observed the highest single-day water demand recorded.

The combination of extreme heat and prolonged dry conditions during this third heatwave has led to increased water consumption.

Teams are working tirelessly to treat and redistribute water across the region, alongside addressing leaks at unparalleled rates.

Despite the challenges, Severn Trent Water has confirmed there are no restrictions currently in place.

They are seeking customer cooperation to maintain this status, especially with no rain forecast.

Severn Trent Water encourages customers to make small changes in water usage, emphasising that collective efforts can prevent the necessity of further measures if the high temperatures persist.

Simple adjustments, like careful water usage, can significantly impact the water supply during this hot summer.

The company states, “With no rain in the forecast, we’d love everyone’s support.”

Their proactive measures, alongside consumer cooperation, aim to keep water adequately flowing throughout the summer period.
