Second man dies as hunt for suspect in fatal Wolverhampton shooting continues
Police are continuing their investigations into the murder of Duaine Mills on Friday, 19th of September
The second man injured in a fatal shooting in Wolverhampton on Friday has sadly died.
Syed Zain Ali, aged 32, passed away in hospital surrounded by family yesterday evening (Wednesday).
West Midlands Police say their thoughts remain with the family at this devastating time.
It comes as police continue their investigations into the murder of Duaine Mills and appeal again to trace Mohammed Maneer Khan (pictured below).
Police say they want to speak to the 38-year-old, known as Manny, after they were called to Leicester Street in Whitmore Reans just after 3.10am on Friday to reports of shots being fired.
Duaine, aged 28, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, and Syed was taken to hospital but despite the efforts of medical staff has died.
Detective Inspector Joe Davenport, from the West Midlands Police Homicide team, said: “Tragically a second life has been lost and we are continuing to work 24/7 to establish the full circumstances and to trace the person responsible.
“We are continuing to urge the public to assist in our on-going efforts to bring Khan into custody.
“The families of both these men, Duaine and Syed, are devastated and we remain absolutely committed to getting them the justice their loved ones deserve."
Police officers are also continuing with regular patrols in the area, so communities will still notice an increased policing presence.
Police have urged anyone who sees Khan to not approach him but to call 999 immediately.
