Police launch witness appeal after couple assaulted in Blackheath
A couple in their 80s were assaulted and robbed.

Police are appealing for information after an elderly couple were assaulted and robbed while walking back from a shopping trip in Blackheath.
The incident took place on Upper Ashley Street at around 1pm, on Tuesday the 9th of June.
The couple, who are in their 80s, were returning from shopping when they were approached by a man who was riding a bicycle. He then wrestled the woman to the ground and stole her purse from her handbag. Her husband was pushed over and suffered injuries to his face.
The offender is described as being white, tall and slim. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, grey casual trousers and dark coloured training shoes. He was riding a dark coloured hybrid bike.
Detective Sergeant Mark Dent, from the Neighbourhood Crime Team at Dudley, said: “This was a really nasty robbery committed on a vulnerable elderly couple and I would appeal to anyone who may recognise the man in the images to please contact us."
“I appreciate that the offender’s face cannot be seen however friends or associates of this person may recognise him. We would appeal for to them to please contact us.”
