Cannock child sex offender jailed for breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order
Neil Fillingham has been jailed for two-years-and-eight-months
A child sex offender from Cannock has been jailed for over two years after breaching the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Neil Fillingham, 45, was handed a 10-year SHPO in January 2024, after he was sentenced for causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual communication with a child.
He was also given a 16 month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He's now been jailed for two-years-and-eight-months after he admitted 11 counts of breaching a SHPO and one count of failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
In what ways did he break his SHPO?
In January 2025, officers receieved reports that he was potentially speaking to children on Instagram and Kik.
This is what prompted his arrest and the seizure of his phone.
Messages on his phone that were deleted were recovered.
He was arrested again after he was found to be using more electronic devices to speak to people online.
His SHPO stated that he must tell officers what devices he had access to.
He failed to tell them that he had an iPhone and iPad provided by his employer.
"Robust action"
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said "Our dedicated management of violent and sexual offenders team in Staffordshire are working tirelessly every single day to ensure those who currently serving orders are abiding to their conditions closely.
"Those who fail to follow the conditions set out, as evidenced in this case, will be met with robust action and brought before the courts."
