A man has been jailed for over 10 years following a series of violent robberies in Wolverhampton and Walsall.

The robberies, which took place on 12th and 15th March, led Wolverhampton CID to investigate after receiving reports with consistent descriptions of the offender.

The investigation identified 32-year-old Gurkirat Singh as responsible for the crimes.

Singh, with no fixed address, violently assaulted his victims during the robberies, stealing handbags and cash, which contributed to the severity of his charges.

He was arrested shortly after the incidents and pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including wounding with intent and robbery.

Singh was sentenced last Thursday, 10th September, to 10 years and eight months in prison for his criminal activities.
