Man jailed for Black Country crime spree
Martin Rollason also threatened to stab shop workers
A robber, who threatened to stab shop workers during a crime spree in Sandwell and Dudley has been jailed.
Martin Rollason stole from a number of stores across January this year.
He targeted shops in Coseley, Dudley, Netherton, Tipton and Smethwick.
Rollason even made threats to stab workers, while he plucked goods from a shop in Hales Lane, Smethwick.
The Sandwell Neighbourhood Crime Team pieced together the incidents and identified him as responsible for the crime spree.
The 39-year-old was arrested towards the end of January and went on to admit more than a dozen offences ranging from robbery, theft and also a burglary, in Kidderminster, in June last year.
Rollason, of Hagley Road, Harborne, was jailed for six years at Wolverhampton Crown Court last Thursday (31 July).
Sergeant Richard Mander, from the Sandwell Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: "Rollason committed a series of crimes and was prepared to put others in fear to take what he wanted.
"We've now managed to ensure he has been taken off the streets and can no longer harm businesses and residents across Sandwell and Dudley."
Police say it comes as they''re taking preventative and enforcement action to address issues of anti-social behaviour, retail and street crime as part #SaferStreetsSummer.
