Man already in prison for attempted murder - handed a further sentence for drugs offences in Cannock
Officers found two mobile phones, £570 in cash, cannabis vegetation and a tin containing white powder during a property search
A man currently in prison for attempted murder and firearms offences has been handed a further sentence for drug offences.
Shaquarn Reid, aged 23, formally of Birmingham, appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday (2nd April) charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and possession of cannabis following a search of a property in Cannock in March.
During the property search, officers recovered two mobile phones, £570 in cash, cannabis vegetation and a tin containing white powder.
Reid was sentenced to a further three years in prison to run concurrent to his ongoing jail-term.
He was also ordered to pay a £228 surcharge on release and the cash recovered from the property was also seized.
Detective Superintendent Victoria Downing, of the force’s major and organised crime department, said:
“Reid’s additional conviction for these drug offences show how drug dealing and the supply of these substances in our county feed into other criminality.
“I am pleased he has been handed an additional jail-term and hope this further deters anyone from being involved in organised crime in Staffordshire.”
