A driver has admitted dangerous driving after travelling the wrong way along the A5 near Shrewsbury.
Adam Roberts was stopped last Thursday after police deployed a stinger, before he ran from the vehicle.
He pleaded guilty to a number of offences and has been remanded in custody.
Sergeant Kully Singh, from the Operations Patrol Unit said: "Roberts showed a complete disregard for the safety of other road users through his reckless and dangerous actions. Driving the wrong way along a major carriageway is an incredibly dangerous act that could and it is sheer luck that no one was harmed.
"Roberts not only ignored repeated opportunities to stop for officers, but also chose to continue driving despite being disqualified and uninsured. His actions placed everyone using the road at unnecessary risk and demonstrated a blatant disregard for the law.
"Our officers acted quickly to bring this incident to a safe conclusion and prevent the danger from escalating further.
"We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour on our roads. Anyone who chooses to drive dangerously and put the public at risk can expect to be arrested and brought before the courts."
