Man arrested after alleged road rage firearm incident in Ketley Bank
Police quickly responded to reports of a suspected firearm during a confrontation between two drivers on Mosey Green Way.
A man has been arrested following a road rage incident in Ketley Bank on Tuesday evening (10 March) that reportedly involved a suspected firearm.
Police were called at around 6.20pm after receiving reports of a confrontation between two drivers on Mosey Green Way. It was reported that one of the men involved may have been in possession of a firearm.
Officers were immediately deployed to the area and began searching for the suspect, with support from the National Police Air Service (NPAS).
A 26-year-old man was later located at an address in Lawley and arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Inspector Marc Whild said police understand that incidents of this nature can be concerning for the public but reassured residents that officers responded quickly.
“We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern to the public, but we want to reassure the community that we responded quickly and a man is now in custody assisting us with our enquiries,” he said.
“Officers are likely to remain in the area this evening as further enquiries are carried out, and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak to us.”
