Man convicted after ramming two police cars in Wolverhampton pursuit

A man has admitted dangerous driving after ramming two police cars during a pursuit in Wolverhampton.
Traffic officers spotted James Griffiths driving through the city on 9 July at dangerous speeds.
They recognised him as being wanted following a hit and run in December 2025.
When officers tried to stop him, the 21-year-old rammed two police cars, causing significant damage to one of them.
He then mounted a pavement in a residential area, drove across grassland and abandoned his car in Rindleford Avenue.
Officers found Griffiths at an address on the same road and arrested him.
As Griffiths was put in the back of a police car, he was heard shouting to a friend 'tell everyone i love them'.
He has since pleaded guilty to two counts of dangerous driving, two counts of driving without a licence or insurance, and possessing a bladed article in a public place.
He's been remanded in custody and will be sentenced next month.
