In a recent crackdown on off-road bikes linked to anti-social behaviour in Wolverhampton, officers seized 11 illegal bikes during a targeted operation.

Collaborating with specialised teams, including off-road and road harm prevention units and aerial support from NPAS, local officers from the Bilston and East Park teams proactively addressed these issues on Friday, 12th June 2026.

The operation resulted in tangible outcomes:

  • One arrest for dangerous driving and theft
  • Two Surrons seized, including one ridden by a 13-year-old
  • Recovery of two suspected stolen bikes
  • Seizure of three illegally modified e-bikes
  • A motocross-style bike confiscated on public land from 13-year-olds
  • Two riders held over driving offences, including lack of insurance
  • Removal of 11 illegal bikes from the streets

A 29-year-old man stopped during the operation has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for officers.

He is set to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on 14th July 2026.

Further enquiries and evidence-gathering are in progress for others stopped during the operation.

Bilston and East Park Sergeant Lindsey Ward, leading Wolverhampton’s OpDriftcloud operation against off-road bikes, stated:

“This operation has seen some great results, but it isn’t a one-off.”

The intention to conduct ongoing operations until local communities no longer suffer from disruptive behaviours was affirmed.

Efforts to combat crime and anti-social behaviour continue alongside partners like Wolverhampton City Council.

Patrols and targeted actions are scheduled based on public information regarding occurrences.
