Four men sentenced to jail for violent disorder in Bilston
Men used weapons including swords and machetes during the clash
Four men have been sentenced to jail terms for their roles in a violent disorder that erupted in Bilston last year.
The incident occurred at around 6am on 15th August, when a white Ford Focus was rammed by a silver Mercedes E Class.
A red Ford Fiesta then blocked the Focus, leading to a violent confrontation among multiple men who emerged from the vehicles.
The group reportedly used weapons such as metal scaffolding poles, swords, and machetes during the clash.
Police arrived swiftly, and the men fled upon hearing the sirens, prompting a pursuit that ended with the detention of the suspects, assisted by PD Ray.
An investigation by the Major Crime Unit, including forensic examinations and CCTV tracking, led to charges against the men for offences including wounding with intent, causing actual bodily harm (ABH), and violent disorder.
At Wolverhampton Crown Court, Hardeep Singh, 29, from Great South West Road, Hounslow, was found guilty and sentenced to seven years for wounding with intent, ABH, and violent disorder.
Lakwinder Singh, 27, from Buttery Road, Smethwick, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and ABH, receiving a sentence of six years and nine months.
Mukesh Kumar, 31, from Larcombe Drive, Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to six years.
Harpreet Singh, 26, from Meynell Road, Leicester, also pleaded guilty and was jailed for five years and 10 months.
All four received their sentences on Monday, 8th June, at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
DC Sophie Evason of the Major Crime Unit remarked on the gravity of the men's actions: "These four men thought it was ok to carry out a violent attack in the middle of a street with no regard for the public. Their violent actions were completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
"We carried out an extensive investigation to identify those involved and thankfully these four men will be spending time behind bars."
