Family seeks location where e-bike was found after Wolverhampton man's death
Neil Thompson's family are hoping someone may have information
The family of a man who died in the grounds of a Wolverhampton school are appealing to the person who pulled his e bike out of the canal to contact them.
It's believed Neil Thompson, also known as Chuck was injured after he came off his bike along Smestow Canal in January.
On what would have been his 46th birthday, his loved ones have appealed for information that may grant them a place to grieve.
Thompson's fatal injuries were determined to have originated from a fall off his e-bike during a ride along the canal path, but the exact cause remains unknown according to the coroner.
Detective Sergeant Amie Petford from West Midlands Police said:
"His family are now asking that the person who got the bike out of the water to get in touch so that they can have a place where they can go to grieve.
"The bike was rusty and appeared that someone had pulled it out of the canal and left it by a bridge at a lock so it is likely it would have been near there, but his family are hoping to know exactly where so they can lay flowers."
If you possess information, please contact law enforcement via 101 or their Live Chat service referencing crime log 1452 from 19th January.
While no criminal investigation is currently ongoing, Thompson's family and friends remember him fondly for his love of fishing and his engaging stories. His legacy in the community endures.
