The baby's grandmother also appeared in court accused of allowing her death and cruelty
A mother has appeared in court charged with the murder of her 17-month-old daughter in Dudley, alongside a grandmother charged with allowing her death.
Faiza Hassan, 36, is accused of murdering the little girl on 9 April 2023.
Emergency services were called to a home on Castle Hill at around 5.20pm.
The 17-month-old baby was taken for treatment but was pronounced dead later that day.
A post-mortem examination found she'd suffered a number of injuries.
Hassan, from Dudley, is also charged with eight counts of wounding with intent.
The alleged offences are said to have happened between 1 November 2022 and 9 April 2023.
She is also accused of being cruel to the girl and another child during the same period.
Her mother, 61-year-old Sahra Hassan, from Walsall, is accused of allowing the death of the 17-month-old and cruelty to her.
Both women appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday 10 September.
Faiza Hassan has been remanded in custody, while Sahra Hassan has been released on bail with conditions.
They're both due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court again on 9 October.
