A Dudley man who stalked a woman, turning up at her home and workplace in Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been jailed for over two years.

52-year-old Christian Leipacher has been sentenced to two-years-and-four-months in prison.

He previously pleaded guilty to stalking involving serious alarm or distress.

Leipacher sent his victim a string of unwanted messages and emails.

When he turned up outside her work, she fled and reported him to police.

In police interviews, Leipacher denied that he'd been stalking her.

Despite this, officers found enough evidence to charge him.

He's also been handed an indefinite restraining order against the victim.

Detective Constable Rachel Cope said: “I’m pleased we’ve been able to secure this outcome for the victim in this case despite the offender’s attempts to deny any wrongdoing.

“His actions have caused a great deal of alarm and distress and have rightfully been recognised in court.”
