Driver fails to stop as cyclist seriously hurt in Halesowen

A man in his 70s has suffered spinal injuries after being knocked off his bike in Halesowen.

He was struck by a vehicle on Huntingtree Road, at the junction with Bournes Hill, at around midday on Wednesday 2 April.

The driver failed to stop at the scene and the cyclist was taken to hospital.

West Midlands Police have issued an appeal for information, including any footage of the incident.

In a statement, the force said: "The collision was reported to us a few days after it happened, and our specialist collision investigators have been reviewing all the information available to them to try and establish the exact circumstances.

"We are now asking for your help – and if you have any information or footage from around the area including dashcam video or CCTV, please get in touch by calling 101 and quoting Log 2523 of 5 April."
