Cradley Heath man appears in court charged with terrorism offences
An 18-year-old has been remanded in custody after appearing before Westminster Magistrates’ Court
A man from Cradley Heath has appeared in court after being charged with terrorism offences following a counter-terrorism policing operation.
Maroof Abdullah, aged 18, was arrested at an address in Cradley Heath on Friday 6 March by detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands as part of a pre-planned operation.
He was later charged with two counts of disseminating terrorist materials.
Abdullah appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9 March, where he was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing later this month.
Officers have thanked the local community for their support while enquiries were carried out at the address.
