More than 20 drivers stopped for traffic offences in Wolverhampton
Police took action against various road law breaches
A targeted operation in Wolverhampton led to over 20 drivers stopped for numerous traffic offences.
On 5th August, officers from the Ettingshall, Blakenhall and Springvale Neighbourhood Team collaborated with the Roads Policing Unit on Parkfield Road for a Multi-Agency Road Safety Operation (MARSO).
The action included partners from the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Datatag, focusing largely on commercial vehicles to check compliance with road laws.
With support from traffic officers in both marked and unmarked vehicles and bikes, the team stopped 21 different vehicles ranging from cars and vans to flatbed lorries and skip loaders.
Five drivers faced vehicle seizures due to lack of insurance.
Others were reported for offences including not wearing seatbelts, mobile phone use, vehicles exceeding weight limits, and issues with road tax or MOT compliance.
Several drivers were identified with illegal window tints, leading to on-site removal.
Drivers with insecure or overweight loads were spoken to about securing them properly to avoid potential serious consequences.
The police conduct these operations regularly in Wolverhampton, the Black Country and the wider West Midlands with the aim of ensuring road safety.
