Cars seized during road safety operation in Coventry
Two cars were seized during a road safety operation in Coventry.
Police, council taxi licensing officers and the DVSA carried out checks at Alvis Retail Park on Holyhead Road on Friday, May 1.
More than a dozen vehicles were stopped during the operation, including vans, taxis and private cars.
Officers checked vehicle condition, roadworthiness, licences and insurance.
Two cars were seized after being found to have no insurance, while another vehicle was deemed unroadworthy and ordered to be recovered.
Drivers of vans and light goods vehicles were also given advice about overloading and making sure tyres are in a safe condition.
Police say the operation was aimed at improving road safety in Coventry and reminding drivers of their responsibilities.
Officers said vehicles that are unsafe, untaxed or uninsured can be seized, and warned that poorly maintained vehicles can put both drivers and other road users at risk.
