Firefighters tackle rapidly spreading woodland fire in Bridgnorth
Broken power lines spark large blaze affecting woodland area
Firefighters in Bridgnorth dealt with a fast-spreading fire in a woodland area late this evening.
The blaze was reportedly sparked by broken power lines and quickly spread across an area of approximately 100m by 50m, engulfing both woodland and hedgerows.
Access difficulties initially hampered efforts to reach the burning site.
However, once on location, Bridgnorth Fire Station's Incident Support Unit quickly deployed a fogging system to combat the fire.
Additionally, an extended hose reel was utilized from the firefighting appliance.
The operation was supported by teams from Telford Central, including their own Incident Support Unit.
The crews managed to contain the fire and cool any remaining hot spots.
