Girl sexually assaulted after man entered Telford home through back door, officers say

A young girl has been sexually assaulted after a man entered through the back door of an address in Telford, officers say.
They received reports on Tuesday (24th March) that a man had entered a property on Willowfields in Woodside at around 3pm.
The man reportedly sexually assaulted a young girl by touching her over her clothes, before fleeing when he believed someone else to be in the property.
West Mercia Police officers are now appealing for information to locate the suspect.
He is being described as a white man, between 5ft 10in and 6ft 2in.
He was wearing blue jeans, a black puffa jacket and fingerless gloves at the time.
Detective Inspector Corry Horobin, said: “This is a deeply concerning incident, where thankfully, the young girl involved is safe, and we are providing her and her family with the support they need.
“We understand that reports like this can cause concern in the community, but I want to reassure residents that incidents of this nature are rare, and we have increased patrols in the area while our investigation continues. Our officers are working hard to identify the man involved, and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.
“We would urge people to remain vigilant and report anything that feels out of place or suspicious.
“If you were in the Willowfields area around 3pm on Tuesday or saw a man matching the description, please get in touch. Even the smallest piece of information could help us.”
