Police renew appeal five years after newborn baby found in Walsall canal
West Midlands Police are continuing to appeal for information after a newborn baby boy was found in the Wryley and Essington Canal near Willenhall in May 2021.
Police have renewed their appeal for information five years after a newborn baby boy was found in a canal in Walsall.
The baby was discovered in the Wryley and Essington Canal at Rough Wood Country Park, near Willenhall, on 20 May 2021.
West Midlands Police say it is possible the baby may have been in the canal for a few days before he was found.
Officers are appealing to the local community and the wider public to help them get justice for the baby boy.
Since the day he was found, police say they have issued several appeals and acted on every piece of information received.
A dedicated page has also been set up where information can be securely shared with investigators.

Detective Inspector Matt Marston, from West Midlands Police, said: “We understand that it might be hard for some people who have information to contact us. We know this might be difficult.
“We have set up a dedicated web page where information can be securely shared with us if you’re not comfortable talking with us on the phone.
“This baby’s short life and tragic death must not be forgotten.
“We’ll always act upon any new information provided to us. Please, if you have any information get in touch.”
