A drug dealer has been jailed for six years after officers found almost £150,000-worth of drugs in his car in Stafford.

Anjid Khan, 44, admitted a number of drug offences following the discovery back in January this year.

Stafford Crown Court heard how on 26 January, officers spotted an Audi linked to potential drug dealing on the M6.

Three police cars boxed the car, which Khan was driving, in.

Khan attempted to drive away, damaging a police car.

His attempts failed though, as he was tasered and bitten by a police dog.

Inside the car, officers found:

  • An estimated £15,700 to £16,060-worth of crack cocaine
  • An estimated £16,110 to £22,800-worth of cocaine
  • An estimated £113,700-worth of heroin

Khan refused to carry out a breath test in custody.

Khan, of Handsworth, Birmingham, admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of crack cocaine, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and criminal damage.

He's been jailed for six years and banned from driving for two.

Detective Sergeant Claire Rider, from our criminal investigations department (CID), said: “Khan was determined to protect his extensive drugs haul and evade capture, but we weren’t prepared to let him get away with it.

“Thankfully, we were able to bring him into custody and build all of the evidence needed to prove the offences in court, leading him no choice but to confront his actions and plead guilty."
