A witness appeal has been launched after a woman's life was put in danger when an object was thrown at her car from a bridge over the M4 near Reading.
Thames Valley Police say the incident happened between 4:30pm and 7pm on Sunday 4 May. The victim, a woman in her 60s, was driving on the M4 by Kirtons Farm overbridge when someone threw an item from the bridge onto the motorway, damaging her vehicle.
The offender is described as a young man, possibly in his teens, in all black who was jogging along the bridge before throwing something substantial into the live lanes of the M4.
Investigating officer PC Jordan Mattingley said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed what happened to please contact us.
“I would particularly like to hear from anybody who may have been travelling on the M4 around this date and time and may have dash-cam footage.
“The outcome of throwing something from a bridge into traffic on a motorway can have fatal consequences.
