Woman suffers serious injury following e-bike collision in Reading

Police are appealing for witnesses

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision in Reading.

At 6pm on Monday 3rd Novemeber 2025 there was a collision between a pedestrian and an e-bike, in Elgar Road at the junction with Alpine Street.

The collision left the pedestrian, a woman aged in her fifties, with serious injuries including a head injury.

She was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition at this time.

The rider of the e-bike briefly stopped the scene before leaving without providing details. He is described as an Asian male, aged between 16 and early 20s.

He was not wearing a helmet and had dark-coloured curly or permed hair and dark-coloured clothing.

The e-bike is described as an electric bike with motorcycle style ‘shell ons’ and dark grey in colour.

Investigating officer PC Eden Hamblin, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“I would also urge the rider of the e-bike to get in touch with police as soon as possible.
