Woman seriously injured in Reading e-bike collision

Police are looking for witnesses

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses, after a serious injury road traffic collision in Reading.

At around 8.50pm on Wednesday (18/2), a cyclist riding an e-bike, carrying a blue Deliveroo bag was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, who was walking with a red trolley bag, on Caversham Road, near Great Knollys Street.

The e-bike rider failed to stop at the scene.

The victim, a woman in her sixties, sustained life-threatening injuries, requiring hospital treatment, where she remains.

Investigating officer PC Jamie Payne of the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to please get in contact.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at this time to please check for dash-cam footage that could have captured the collision or the moments leading up to or after it.
