Around fifty firefighters from fire stations including Basingstoke, Andover, Whitchurch and Overton have helped put out a wildfire south of Andover.
Approximately 50 hectares of field at Chilbolton were destroyed, with the fire spreading close to a nearby fuel storage facility.
Crews used multiple hose reel jets and fan sprays to prevent the fire from spreading further, while firefighters monitored and cooled any affected cylinders.
The fire was brought under control after three hours and the site was re-inspected this morning to ensure the fire was completely out.
