Victim suffered bleed on his brain
A man has been jailed after carrying out a robbery in Reading which left one victim injured requiring surgery.
At Reading Crown Court on 30 July 2026, Michael Healey, aged 35, of no fixed abode, plead guilty to one count of robbery, receiving an extended sentence of 7 years' 10 months.
The conviction relates to an incident at an address in Oxford Road, Reading, at around 3am on 21 May 2026.
The victim, a man aged 32, was approached on Oxford Road by a male and female. The male proceeded to assault the victim and stole his phone and wallet before making off.
The victim was taken to hospital as he sustained a bleed on the brain and significant facial injuries. The victim has since recovered and is no longer in hospital.

“The sentence handed down by the court reflects the gravity of their actions.
