Efforts are underway to improve accessibility at Twyford Station, as passenger numbers surpass pre-pandemic levels.

A cross-party working group convened this week to support Wokingham Borough Council's commitment to enhancing travel options to the station.

Twyford Station faces challenges with restricted bus and cycle access from certain directions and limited weekday car parking.

In September 2025, Cllr Adiran Betteridge pledged to collaborate with Great Western Railway and other stakeholders to formulate both short-term and long-term transport enhancements.

Cllr Betteridge said, "Easy access to rail stations in the borough, however you travel, is a priority in our Local Transport Plan. The issues at Twyford have proved difficult to fix over many years, but I am committed to working with partners and the community to do so. Once we have proposals that are robust, we will share these with the public."
